Grant merciful forgiveness, we pray, O Lord,
to your servants N. and N.,
that, just as faithful married love
bound them together in this life,
so the fullness of your charity
may unite them for all eternity.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
Or, for one deceased spouse:
Grant merciful forgiveness, we pray, O Lord,
to your departed servant N.
and keep in your constant care your servant N. (living spouse),
that, just as faithful married love
bound them together in this life,
so the fullness of your charity
may unite them for all eternity.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
