Blessings (Shortest Formularies)
As circumstances suggest, a priest or deacon may use the following short blessing formularies.
Religious articles
Elderly people confined to their homes
Religious articles:
May this (name of article) and the one who uses it be blessed, 
in the name of the Father, and of the Son, + and of the Holy Spirit. 
R. Amen.
Rosaries:
May this rosary and the one who uses it be blessed, 
in the name of the Father, and of the Son, + and of the Holy Spirit. 
R. Amen.
Note: For religious articles and rosaries, the Latin liturgical books prescribe only a simple sign of the cross accompanied by In nómine Pátris et Fílii et Spíritus Sáncti.
Children:
May the Lord Jesus, who loved children, 
bless + you, N., 
and keep you in his love, 
now and for ever.

Dóminus Iesus 
qui púeros diléxit 
te N. benedícat + 
et in suo amore custódiat.

Elderly people confined to their homes:
May almighty God bless + you, 
for he forsakes no one, 
but with fatherly care sustains you, his child (children), 
even in old age and failing strength.
