Go forth, daughters of Zion, and see your queen;

sun and moon bow before her beauty,
and all God’s children rejoice in her presence.

Daughter of Zion, full of loveliness and grace,
you are fair as the moon,
glorious as the sun,
most favored of all women.
COLLECT
Lord our God, by the wonder of your wisdom
Jesus Christ, the Bridegroom of the Church
and fairest of all your children on earth,
came forth from a virgin’s womb;
through the intercession of his Mother in her glory
give joy and peace to all peoples
and fill our hearts with the light of your holiness.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.

Lord God,
your lowly handmaid, the Virgin Mary,

✠ A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke
The angel Gabriel was sent from God
to a town of Galilee called Nazareth,
to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph,
of the house of David,
and the virgin’s name was Mary.
And coming to Mary, the angel said,
“Hail, favored one! The Lord is with you.”
But Mary was greatly troubled at what was said
and pondered what sort of greeting this might be.
Then the angel said to her,
“Do not be afraid, Mary,
for you have found favor with God.
“Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son,
and you shall name him Jesus.
He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High,
and the Lord God will give him the throne of David his father,
and he will rule over the house of Jacob forever,
and of his kingdom there will be no end.”
But Mary said to the angel,
“How can this be, since I have no relations with a man?”
And the angel said to her in reply,
“The holy Spirit will come upon you,
and the power of the Most High will overshadow you.
Therefore the child to be born
will be called holy, the Son of God.
And behold, Elizabeth, your relative,
has also conceived a son in her old age,
and this is the sixth month for her who was called barren;
for nothing will be impossible for God.”
Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord.
May it be done to me according to your word.”
Then the angel departed from her.
At the end of the Gospel, the Deacon, or the Priest, acclaims:
The Gospel of the Lord.
All reply:
Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
Then he kisses the book, saying quietly:
Through the words of the Gospel
may our sins be wiped away.
PRAYER OVER THE OFFERINGS
May we receive, O Lord, we pray,
the effects of this offering dedicated to you,
so that, walking with the Blessed Virgin Mary in the way of beauty,
we may be renewed by growth in heavenly life
and come at last to the vision of your glory.

PREFACE: Mary, Mother of Fairest Love
Mary is All-beautiful.
℣. The Lord be with you.

℟. We lift them up to the Lord.
℣. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
℟. It is truly right and just.
It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation,
always and everywhere to give you thanks,
Lord, holy Father, and, as we celebrate the memory
of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
to proclaim with fitting praise
the greatness of your name.
Beauty was hers at her conception:
free from all stain of sin,
she is resplendent in the glory of grace.
Beauty was hers in her virginal motherhood:
she brought forth her Son, the radiance of your glory,
as the Savior and brother of us all.
Beauty was hers in the Passion of her Son:
marked by his Blood,
in her meekness she shared the suffering
of the Lamb of God, her Son, silent before his executioners,
and won for herself a new title of motherhood.
Beauty was hers in the Resurrection of Christ:
she reigns with him in glory,
the sharer now in his triumph.
Through him the Angels of heaven
offer their prayer of adoration
as they rejoice in your presence for ever.
May our voices be one with theirs
in their triumphant hymn of praise:
Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of hosts.
Heaven and earth are full of your glory.

Lord God,
continue to bless with your unending favor
those whom you renew in strength by this holy Sacrament;
